The Art of Accessorisation with The Lady Taverners at House of Fraser

The Lady Taverners is a vital and dedicated fundraising arm of The Lord's Taverners. Traditionally, each Prime Minister had been made an honorary member of The Lord's Taverners. As this was not possible when Margaret Thatcher came along, the Lady Taverners was formed with Baroness T awarded the title of Honorary Lady Taverner No.1.

They are dedictaed to charitable giving to cricket and tend to focus their fundraising on specially adapted minibuses and sport and recreation for young people with special needs.

The Surrey arm of the Lady Taverners had their latest fundraising event at House of Fraser in Guilford where yours truly introduced The Art of Accessorisation from head to toe

Using accessory lables currently stocked in House of Fraser I featured jewellery from Citrine by the Stones including the must have stackable bangles (as seen in the Sex and the City movie) ,
Enamel bracelets from Marc by Marc Jacobs. As well as a new design brand I'm loving called Made by the People for the People. And in case you didnt know House of Fraser also stock fascinators by designer Philip Tracey.

These are a selection of outfits from labels like Whistles and Maxmara chosen by House of Fraser to represent what the Lady Taverners may wear to one of their many charitable events including cocktail parties, lunches and meetings. We explored the art of accessorisation paying special attention to height , shape, personal style and age.

Pam manages the House of Fraser Shoe studio and she kindly joined me to showcase all her latest designs in store

In my book Rocks Frocks and Cocktails, there is a feature called Accessorise with meaning. Pam demonstates that reallly well here becasue she is wearing a belt on her hips that belonged to her late husband. Although you'd never have known it, she told me afterwards that she was a little nervous about contributing. She always wears this belt for good luck on occasions when she feels she needs and extra boost. Lovely.

Pam's cocktail ring and bracelet were equally stunning

Alongside my favourite designs listed above this Acquascutum shopper is very elegant and fun and will hold everything including the kitchen sink.

Every accessory collection needs a beaded or sequinned collar. This one from the Day Birger concession in House of Fraser will tranform a little black dress at a cocktail party , a vest in the summer and can also be work as a belt. It's not only beautiful but very versatile

The Lady Taverners are a stylish bunch including Sally and Dolly who have over 30 years experience in fashion and beauty and run Elegant Edge, a personal shopping experience. As you'd expect they were beautifully dressed and well versed in the art of accessorisation

Love this hat, warm , stylish , modern and can be worn at any age.

My freind Philip Levine joined the ladies to bring that extra sparkle and bedazzle to the night. And no that's not a cap , 1000 crystlas were lovingly stuck to his head by bodyart designer Kat Sinclair.

There will be more Art of Accessorisation sessions coming to a store near you.

Pat Grant was wearing my favourite Lady Taverner accessory of the night. Totally fashioinista!
Details of the designer will be in my book Rocks Frocks and Cocktails.

In the mean time, House of Fraser is full of fabulous accesories from amazing designers , go treat yourself.
