Indian summer in October ....Yaaaaaaay. Thing is, if you know anything about British weather it can change in a heartbeat. Today summer dress and a cardy, tomorrow thermal vest and full on winter coat with boots and socks. So here's some inspiration to keep you snug when the chill sets in. Use this basic idea to make several of these in different lengths and perhaps embellish with trinkets for extra fabulosity. Then layer them all for a cool new scarf or snood.

My sister Nadine has these really beautiful long tapered fingers. As you can see below I wasn't blessed in the same way as my fingers look more like Cadbury's flakes.

That might be why even though I love having my tootsies painted I'm usually not that bothered about my fingers. Until..... unexpectedly the offer to have my chocolate logs tended to at the oh so chic Butterfly Boutique came along and I couldn't refuse.

I met Louisa Barnett, the founder of Butterfly at the Playboy Club in London but that's another story. This story involves being completely impressed by her because after she spent more than a decade of working in the City, not only did Louisa realise there was an opportunity for something she had sought for years: a place to go to be revived and transformed from everyday ordinariness to chic elegance, but

she went from concept to reality in just a year and opened Butterfly towards the end of 2009. Louisa was right on the money as Butterfly has been a hit from the start but what is it?

Is it a hairdressers? No. Is it a nail salon? No.

Butterfly is much more than that. Sometimes I just need someone to do my eyes for an event,

particularly lashes. Sometimes I need someone to just help me with an up-do cause I can make it look fabulous in the front but lord only knows whats happening at the back. Sometimes I need to go straight from the gym to a hot date and need someone to dry my wet hair and style it, give my face that naturally glowing shimmer with kissable lips and fluttery eyes. That's when you say........

"It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Butterfly" ...... to the rescue.

While I chatted away with Louisa, I had my nails filed, shaped and painted with Ciaté: the polish that's exclusive to Butterfly in the square mile and a fave on the red carpet, donning the nails of Eva Longoria, Fergie and Rhianna.

Ta Dah!

And it gets even better , you'll be in and out before you know with two stylists ( hair and make up ) working on you at the same time. Oh and that's hair stylists and make-up artists from the world of film, fashion, theatre and TV no less........ which is of course no less than you deserve.

Wait there's more? Yup! There is a fabulous, discreet changing space, with phone chargers, newspapers, herbal teas and essential handbag supplies so even if you rock up hair wet from a post gym shower or frazzled from your working day, you will emerge transformed, just like a ....uh huh.....beautiful Butterlfy :-).

Have you ben to the V&A reading rooms yet? It's a fab new new concept: part bookshop, part wine bar. You can browse, read, shop and enjoy a coffee or a cheeky glass of wine.

Recently I went to the reading rooms to listen to Geoffrey Aquilina Ross, first men’s editor at Vogue talk about his book The Day of the Peacock: Style for Men 1963-1973

Geoffrey was incredibly engaging with lots of stories of flambouyant characters ( Celcil Beaton, Mick Jagger ) and 'it' boutiques with names like Granny takes a trip and Mr Fish.

The Day of the Peacock is a richly illustrated personal memoir with photographs, outfits and ephemera drawn from the V&A's amazing archives.

Grab a signed copy before they all go

And keep an eye on the events at the reading rooms its a delightful afternoon/ eveening out.

It was such a relief to find out that retouching is as old as the Hollywood Hills. All the tricks of the trade were on display with the befores and afters, wrinkles and all at the National Portrait Gallery's photographic exhibition Glamour of the Gods a celebration of Hollywood portraiture from the industry's 'Golden Age', the period 1920 to 1960.

My favourite Frock

Do you have a favourite frock? Or maybe a current favourite. I have a Manish Arora skirt, I know not a complete frock but in the same family none the less, it is my favourite thing ever, its like a coat of many colours and when I find a decent picture of it I will post.

In the mean time the new book My Favourite Dress features the fave frock from top notch designers, celebrities, stylists and fashion editors form all over the globe. Weathering winter the fashionable way - Layering

I'm a tropical bird and always head South for the winter.

At the moment I'm in the Southern Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago , 7 miles off the coast of Venezuela

with the humming birds, flamingos and scarlet ibis'.

Wish you were here (I really d0) but if you aren't I wish you

a king size super-tog duvet and an extra hot body

(besides yours of course) underneath it....

Lord knows I saw enough extra hot bods at Carnival time

here in Trinidad, it beats having to wack up the central

heating any day I tell you! Foof!!!!

So everyone went crazy at the news of the Jimmy Choo for H& M limited collection. Who doesn't want a little piece of the Choo magic at a reduced price? If you braved the crowds and millions of elbows to bag a pair of those electric blue and black patent ankle strap babies then more power to and good on you. Personally I love a designer bargain as much as the next girl but i'm just a little more Jimmy Choo-sy. I really don't want to see a cute 16 year old on the high street in my shoes on a Friday night and I certainly don't want to be wearing the same pair as someone else at a Christmas party. I'm down CPP - yeah you know me

There are lots of abbreviations for fabulous things, for example HRH as you know is short for Her Royal Highness. Then there are some that are not so fabulous, like the song that goes

I'm down with OPP, yeah you know me . OPP means other people's property.

Now I'm not down with OPP but I'm certainly down with the far more fabulous CPP!

CPP is short for Candy Pratts Price, the executive fashion director of www.style.com and in my world is she holds the title of UQA- Undisputed Queen of Accessories.

I've been wanting to meet CPP for forever, so imagine my delight when she strutted her stuff right past me during Fashion's Big Night out in Manhattan! I nearly tripped over myself to see what treasures the Queen was wearing and she didn't disappoint. She was very gracious when I interupted her conversation to gush that I'd been wanting to meet her for forever and replied in her raspy sexy voice " what a compliment ".

CPP was decked out in regulatory ultra skinny, skinny jeans, torso hugging tailored jacket and this is where I have palpitations, not just one but TWO vintage Kenneth Jay Lane brooches.

And you know how I feel about brooches let alone anything KJL!!!

Then when I looked down, Candy finished off her look with the sleekest ever silvery-grey Manolo booties of course! All hail CPP the UQA.

This stunning lady is called Divina

and Divine she is indeed.

As I was admiring her summer fresh as a daisy look, my eyes were

drawn downwards to these gold and coral killer Manolos.

On the way down I noticed something silky peeping out from under Divina's Topshop frock

So imagine my delight when Divina lifted the hem of her skirt (just a little) to reveal the most divine Agent Provocateur garter belt.

In the height of summer without a stocking in sight , this is what the Art of Accessorisation is all about. This belt was a gift from Divina's fiance and I'm sure with this purchase he had other ideas in mind ;-) but with a lady this beautiful and creative I'm sure he is in for a lifetime of surprising treats.

The man from Santa Cruz

I spent the summer in New York and mine was the fortune to meet the man from Santa Cruz. Yes indeed, the one who makes such delightful treats for ladies' feet, Mr Blahnik himslf.

Did you know some of the first shoes he designed were for men? And apparently he'd still love to design for men but he doesn't think they could handle it.

And judging by his own beautiful soles I can perhaps understand why . The boys have really embraced pink shirts but I think they'd be a bit reluctant to wear these in the boardrom.

Frock the World Freerun Championships!

This summer you can have more than 15 minutes of fame and no I'm not talking anything as hideous as Big Brother. If you aren't afraid of heights and have a strong bladder you can be a living monument by standing on the Plinth in Trafalgar Square, for an hour. Do anything you like while you're up there, within reason of course, my friend James was part of a swing dance fest that saw the leader doing the moves on the plinth and everyone following below. Fabulous!

But last Saturday you would have been very hard pressed to exercise your hour of fame in any memorable way as experienced by this chap below. Dressed in regal finery he had a Hamlet cigar moment and eventually just sat down when he realized no one was looking at him at all.............. and why?

Well because Nelson and his column stood guard over the star attraction

The World Freerun Championships

Yes that little green dot in mid air is a hunk of a man, and what's he holding onto?

Uuuuh nothing! Hands free, freerunning in Trafalgar Square

No crash mats, no safety nets, no harnesses or Nuffink!

So amazing it got me and my girlies wondering

just what these boys are capable of when there is a soft mattressy landing on offer?

OK enough of that, we're live on BBC3

So let's bring it right back

to some good family fun

I was joined by my gorgeous godchildren, Ben, Josh and Ella

and their beautiful parents and my very dear friends , Hen and Jay!

They were all tanned and gorgeous after a trip to Turkey

and travelled up from Sunny Tunbridge Wells especially for the occasion

Alongside this awesome athletic prowess and brilliant showmanship

My godchildren were also very excited to see this year's winners of Britain's Got Talent, Diversity perform live

And does one wear a frock to such a sporting occasion?

Absolutely!

Especially when one has access to the VIP lounge

Where you can rest your weary feet whilst sipping white wine on the white leather sofas.

And the view

is so much more spectacular

And the winners are

Live Wire from the UK, Jaywalker from the US and Jenx also from the UK

I did get my hands on Livewire.............'s Trophy :-)

May I introduce you to the twins, the new babies in my life , they are both called Mia and rather like Moses in the basket I discovered them sat on my doorstep in the wee hours of July 22nd 2009. For me?! Yaaaaay! Very exciting especially since they came via not one but two rather dapper, clever gentlemen, one from London who placed the very specific order , the other in New York who executed the mission with the utmost attention to detail

Men who know how to buy shoes?! And do so unprompted ?! Wow!

Those are the moments that truly make life special and those gentlemen are DJ and OT,

Doublejoy and Officially Tasty .

So girls in honour of those two very clever gentlemen, and to all the gorgoeus men who not only know how to buy shoes but appreciate, admire and compliment us on all the little details that help us look fabulous, let's raise a glass and make a toast with DJ and OT cocktails

And one of my favourite places to browse for dramatic dresses is the Fever Boutique at 52 Eastcastle Street in London

And I'm not alone , my secret seems to be out

Breakfast at Tiffany's was the movie backdrop to the start of their summer sale

My favourite in the summer collection is the Poppy tie dress as seen here on model Jasmine Guinness at the launch of the new Fiat

She featured in said dress (2nd form the left below) in Hello magazine alongside a host of other girly celebs.

If you are less flouncy like my mate Alice then the Poppy Pencil dress is oh so summer siren

And the Poppy handbag would look great with a white vest and a pair of jeans.

Earlier in the year Fever celebrated the start of Wimbledon with 10% off and a Pimms Lemonade , strawberries and cream evening

Up to 70 % off Matthew Williamson? Surely Not!

My dear friend Nahid and I decided to investigate sale proceedings at the beautiful 20th Century Theatre in Notting Hill . The trick is to wait till the crowds have died down. When It opened at 1, mayhem! We went at 4 when there were still amazing bargains to be had but a very civilised trickle of women as opposed to a stampede.

And we weren't disappointed

It was all there, signature prints , vibrant colour

beading and sparkle, embrodery and ruffles!

My favourite summer party so far this year is the famous Serpentine soiree and this is the Matthew Williamson Libertine Beading frock I wore. This frock itself is both rock and frock all rolled into one, you don't need much else to make it pop, it's doing that all by itself. I did use my Papa Razzi clutch and killer Comme Il Fauts to set it off and I have to say, it was one of the most fun times I've ever had.

I spotted this Libertine blouse to my dress at the MW sample sale down from £527 to £158.10

And almost the same as my frock just with less beading was this salmon pink Libertine frock down from £697 to £209.10

And it didnt stop there, drool over this selection of python flats and heels in delicious colours

Down from £375 to £112.50

and reduced from £450 to £136

I was rather partial to this Oragmi Grosgrain skirt. Orignially £475 now £142.50

Which would look too cute with this beautifully embroidered purse.

Ooh what's this? I do believe it's Nahid sneaking in a purchase while I hunt out the bargains for you

She was so happy with her Tropical Lame floral frock down from £895 to £268

she changed into it straight away.
